NEON

Marketing Lead – NEON (2024)
University of Oklahoma’s First Feature-Length Film
As the Marketing Lead for NEON, the first feature film produced at the University of Oklahoma, I played a vital role in shaping its public presence and audience engagement. This project challenged me to blend strategic marketing with creative storytelling, ensuring the film's identity resonated with viewers before it even hit the screen.
Key Contributions:
Brand Development: Created visually striking marketing materials using Adobe Photoshop, Canva, and layered lighting techniques to establish the film’s unique aesthetic.
Social Media Management: Grew the film’s Instagram presence from scratch, building engagement and excitement within the university and indie film communities.
Campaign Execution: Designed promotional assets, including teaser flyers, crowdfunding graphics, and casting call materials that helped generate anticipation for the film.
Team Collaboration: Worked closely with filmmakers, designers, and marketers to ensure cohesive messaging and audience targeting throughout the campaign.
Creative Approach:
Each promotional piece reflected the artistic and thematic elements of NEON:
Photoshoot Marketing Material – Experimented with colored tube lighting to achieve a glowing cinematic effect, later refined in Photoshop.
Crowdfunding Social Post – Built textured visuals in Canva, integrating the film’s branding to inspire community support.
Teaser Flyer – Combined multiple royalty-free assets in Photoshop to evoke mystery and intrigue.
Casting Call Flyer – Incorporated painted eye motifs to visually link the film’s artistic style with its horror themes.
This experience strengthened my creativity, leadership, and teamwork skills, allowing me to craft a dynamic marketing strategy that supported an innovative and collaborative filmmaking effort.
